【NEW】Mamiya RB67,6×7 film holder Light Seal Kit(2 sets)

Here, I show instructions on how to use it.

 

1.Introduction

This one kit includes two sets of light seal set. There is a kit with 1 set of light seal for price down.When the light seal between the backside of the body and the film holder is deteriorated or became sticky, you can change it easier using this kit.

Then light leak or stickiness can be avoided.
This kit provides 15 sub-sets as shown in the photo.

These sub-sets are accurate in size by laser cutting from CAD data.　Therefore, utilizing this is much better than your hand-cut one with lower accuracy in size.

2. Operations

Let’s see a sample.　The following picture light seal is deteriorated.

2.1 Put a vertical position, not to let specks of dirt fallen in the mirror area.

 

2.2 Using anhydrous alcohol and ear stick, remove the old light seal.

2.3 Use bamboo skew as well to clean it off all, not to remove old ones for better attaching new one. The skew is included in the kit. (See the red circle one.)  The skew is omitted for price down product.

 

2.4 Place the appropriate light seal to confirm the size. There are two kinds of big ones.

 

2.5 Put anhydrous alcohol, or water enough again, to make it easier to adjust to locating the new light seal.
Note: Put the alcohol or water to the surface of the light seal is much better to adjusting location by reducing adhesiveness of the surface of the seal.
Here, since specks of dirt are removed, you can put the body in horizontal position for better access from the top.

 

2.6 Take a round light seal and put it in the right position. Push surfaces at average weight for better fitting.
You can find these operations are not difficult!

3. Cautions

A return mirror may have damage easier. Therefore, enough attention should be made not to contact the surface.
In addition, the backside of the return mirror has light seal paper. This can be easily broken and taken away. It is not recommended to change this, therefore, this kit does not contain this part.

 

4. Remark

1. This kit contains two sets. Therefore, you can retry if you fail to do it once!  The one with one set is also retrial with care.
2. As shown in the following photos, there are many other light seal parts. You can not only use this for RB67 or other cameras as well, like Nikon, Olympus, etc… In this case, select the best size one to match. Just one cutting to shorten may be necessary.
3. It can be folded, therefore, you can locate in small space with good handling^^
